90s fashion has come back into light recently, and it looks like it’s here to stay for a while. This time around, I think we figured out how to style certain 90s pieces a little bit better with all these ways for how to style mom jeans.
Maybe it’s the nostalgia. Maybe it’s that I’m a 90s born girl, but I love the slinky dresses, scrunchies, button-up sweater tops, and most importantly, the mom jeans!
I got myself a pair of vintage Levi mom jeans off of, believe it or not, eBay. The most 90s website of them all, perhaps? I love to tell everyone I meet how much I love eBay.
The best way to thrift is to start online and search for exactly what you’re looking for! This post isn’t about eBay or thrifting, so I digress.
Let’s look at all the ways we can style a pair of vintage 90s mom jeans, to look the part of 2021 style standards. Here are all the ways for how to style mom jeans.
How To Style Mom Jeans:
1. Sneakers and a Tee

There’s nothing fancy needed here! We all have a simple tee shirt and sneakers in our closet.
This is one of my go-to outfits because it’s so comfortable. I am constantly just wearing jeans and a t-shirt to work because it’s so easy.
2. Sweater and Sneakers

This outfit can definitely be paired with booties. If you live in a wintery environment, then that’s probably the way to go!
Again, this outfit is comfortable and stylish. You can always throw a sweater over your t-shirt and take it off as the day warms up.
3. Mules and a Crop Top

One of the best things about mom jeans is that they can be dressed up or down. Throw on a fitted crop top and some mule clogs, and you have yourself a cute and casual going out outfit.
Whenever you’re going out, it’s important to consider comfort! For a similar look, check out these Mule Clogs from ASOS.
4. The Canadian Tuxedo

Say hello to my pup, Murphy, and the infamous Canadian Tuxedo! Who said we couldn’t look better than Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake? Because I sure think we can!
Believe it or not, the Levi Jeans, Levi denim jacket, and classic Reeboks are all from eBay! Did I ever mention that I love to shop for vintage clothing items on eBay?
5. Loafers and an Oversized Blazer

Check out these Loafers from Steve Madden for a similar look. I am obsessed with the look of an oversized blazer especially when it adds a little pattern to the outfit.
This outfit does look very 90s, but it’s cute and a little different looking than the normal these days.
6. Doc Martens and a Tee

Another super simple and comfy outfit. There’s nothing more 90s grunge than a pair of Doc Martens and mom jeans. Throw on a band-tshirt and you’d be 100% golden!
I think it’s also super important to pair a belt with mom jeans. Typically, the look of these jeans is very baggy, so a belt helps to offset that and emphasize that you have a figure.
7. Cheetah Jacket and Booties

Yep, the header says it all. We’re playing what other 90s trends can we pull into today’s outfit guide! Cheetah print is coming back in, but only in small bursts.
Don’t go overboard with any print, that is. This jacket was also something I thrifted, so don’t forget that you always have that option to find a unique, funky piece, for a good price.
8. Flowy Long-Sleeve and Sandals

Something light and airy gives mom jeans a totally different vibe compared to their 90s grunge roots.
This shirt is from & Other Stories. This is one of my all-time favorite stores. Their pieces are slightly pricey but definitely worth the investment when you find a really nice piece.
9. Satin Tank Over T-Shirt

Another 90s inspired style is the tank top over the t-shirt. I think it adds a little more dynamic to an outfit than just a tank top or just a t-shirt.
The t-shirt was just from Target, and the tank top was from a small boutique called Irene’s Story with cute, affordable pieces.
10. Tight Long Sleeve With Sandals

The belt and sandals are also thrifted pieces I have in my closet. Here is another way you can dress in mom jeans without them being dark or grungey.
Mom jeans are great for winter or summer! It just depends on which pieces you pair them with, and they go with a LOT of things.
11. T-Shirt and Sandals

Here’s another outfit spinoff of the t-shirt and jeans outfit. This one is styled for warmer seasons. With cute sandals and a belt, along with a light purse, you can accessorize this outfit perfectly.
