Do you have a snatched waist and a big round behind? If so, then congratulations! You’re slim thick! Dressing this body type can be SO frustrating.
Shopping for proportions for size 2/4 waist and size 6/8 hips is impossible. When you find pants that fit in the butt and thighs, it becomes baggy around your waist. It’s true. Clothing just is not made for people of “normal” proportions. Fashion and beauty standards cater to people with matching proportions, but that’s not for everyone. Don’t worry. There are things you can do to shop for clothes that fit and compliment your body.
It’s time to take control and be confident. Don’t let clothing sizes get to you because there really is no standard sizing. You can be a size 2 in one brand and jump to a size 8 in another! Honestly, it’s a bit disheartening when that happens. None of us want to feel like we’re a few sizes larger than we actually are. It’s ridiculous if you ask me.
Personally, I have had a big booty and thighs ever since I can remember. People commented on my “thunder thighs” even back in middle school, and those comments stuck with me since. It’s taken me a long time to be able to accept and love my body. Now, I’m proud to have such strong legs and a muscular body!
How To Dress If You Are Slim Thick:
Fit and Flare Pants
Fit and flare pants are your best friend if you’re slim thick. This fit hugs the right places of your body to accentuate your curves.
These types of pants elongate your legs as well. Fit and flare are also super comfy, which is essential for most people. Not only will you be super confident, but you won’t be uncomfortable and feel like you have to mess with your clothes.
Shop The Look:
Cropped Wide Leg Pants
You definitely don’t want to look like you’re drowning in clothing with big baggy clothes, but wide-leg pants are your best friend.
If you have bigger thighs (like me), wide-leg cropped pants will help make your legs look longer and are breathable.
Shop The Look:
High Waisted Anything
High-waisted pants will do you wonders if you’re slim thick. The high waist will elongate your legs, making them appear thinner. A high waist also fits better than finding a pair of pants that fit around the butt and hips.
The high waist will stretch over your booty while also fitting in the abdomen. There’s absolutely nothing worse than having that bagginess at the back of your waist.
Shop The Look:
Fitted Tops
When you’re slim thick, you definitely want to pull attention to your waist. Wearing a fitted top will show off your small waist and really give you that hourglass shape. If you go for the wide-leg trouser, offset it with a tighter fitting top. This will prevent you from looking like you’re drowning in your clothing.
Shop The Look:
Belt Around The Waist
Another way to draw attention to your small waist is to accentuate it with a belt. When you put a belt around your waist, you’re bringing attention to that hourglass figure once again. Be proud to show off that waist!
Shop The Look:
Co-Ord Sets
Co-Ord sets are the slim thick girl’s BEST friend. A cute matching set to fit your top and bottom while showing off that waistline is prime to dressing your body type. Usually, these sets are made of stretchy, breathable material, so it’s not hard to find one that fits like a dream.
Shop The Look:
Athleisure
Not only is athleisure cute, but it’s also SO comfy. Choose high-waisted leggings along with a cropped athletic top and a cropped zip-up sweater. Throw on your Nike sneakers, and you’re good to go. You can look stylish while also being super comfortable running errands. If you worked hard for your fit body, then don’t be afraid to show it off!
Shop The Look
Biker Shorts
Nothing else screams, comfy, casual, cute more than a pair of biker shorts. Take advantage of these coming into style. The length is perfect, so you won’t get chafing thighs. You can still look cute, summery, and athletic by wearing biker shorts as a slim thick lady.
